Marilú Cuesta

Marilú Cuesta is from Mexico and has had the privilege of raising her family of six in Mountain View, CA for the last 21 years. Inspired by the work of her parents as teachers in Santiago Chazumba, Oaxaca, she hopes to continue their example by advocating for equity in education and dignity in affordable housing.

She has been involved in several community groups including the local and District English Learner Advisory Councils, Community Action Team, Mountain View Tenants Coalition and most recently, the Latino Parent Outreach group from Mountain View High School as well as Parent Voices of Santa Clara.

Two memorable moments include having been part of the Mountain View Spanish Language Civic Leadership Academy of 2019 and accepting the proclamation for National Hispanic Heritage Month from the Mountain View City Council in September 2022.
